These brief reviews are for some of the books that I think may be worth reading by most of our clients.

The Millionaire Next Door

by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D.
and William D. Danko, Ph.D.

First published in 1996, this book is a collaboration of two college professors. They decided to do an in-depth study of millionaires, figure out what they have in common and write a book about their findings. That way anyone could read the book and by emulating what millionaires do, become a millionaire themselves. The findings may surprise you. It is a must read for anyone who is serious about accumulating wealth. It has become a classic and I highly recommend it.

The Millionaire Mind

by: Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D.

First published in 2000, this book is a sequel to the New York Times Best-Seller, The Millionaire Next Door. It is authored by Dr. Thomas Stanley who was one of the authors of the predecessor. He expands on the original by exploring the ideas, beleifs and behaviors of millionaires. If you liked The Milionaire Next Door, then you'll like The Millionaire Mind, but you should read The Millionaire Next Door first. The Millionaire Mind is not quite as good as the original but its still worth a read.

The Big Short

by: Michael Lewis

Published in 2010, this book is aserious endictment of the big Wall Street firms. It is a character-driven narrative full of indignation and dark humor. Michael Lewis provides an insider's view of the stock market crash of 2008 and the creation of the arcane artifical securities loosely based on piles of doubtful mortgages that eventually led to the collapse of the American financial system. Although it gets somewhat technical at times, the book tells an amazing, readable story about the greed and stupidity within some of the country's most prestigiuos financial institutions.
